Beautiful silver oxidized medal of St. Dymphna shows her image on the front and the back reads, “Pray for Us”. According to Catholic and Orthodox tradition, Dymphna was born in Ireland in the 7th century. Dymphna's father Damon was a petty king and her mother was a devout Christian. Dymphna’s mother died when she was a teenager and when her father could not find a new candidate for a wife that was equal to Dymphna’s mother, he decided to marry Dymphna. She escaped to the continent, but he found her and hit her with his sword when she refused to go with him. According to tradition, she lived in the 7th century and was martyred by her father.
